Minister, Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church, Melrose, MA, August 2018-present

Director of Community Engagement, Follen Church, Lexington, MA         January 2016-July 2018

Preaching monthly. Leading “New UU” class, facilitating workshops. Providing collaborative leadership with committees on anti-racism, nominating, Partner Church, Adult Programs, stewardship. Responsible for volunteer recruitment, leadership development, communications, social media, and membership-related activities.

Online Strategist, Unitarian Universalist Association, Boston         September 2013 – June 2014

Led innovations in digital media at the national level. Worked across departments to invigorate and redesign website and social media approach. Rewrote key web pages.
Led staff trainings and workshops at GA. Developed a webinar on “Writing for the Web.” Working both remotely from Wales and travelling to the US. Position absorbed into new department.

Creator/ Manager, Anglesey: A Bridge Through Time” Website,  Wales, UK             2011- 2013 Designed, wrote and edited 25,000-word website that integrates fresh heritage interpretation with community-building, volunteer moderation, user-generated content and social-media elements. Website later absorbed into larger county-council-sponsored site.

Cover Supervisor, Guidance Mentor, Ysgol Aberconwy, Conwy, Wales                        2008-2009 Supported and taught students in a large public secondary school, both individually and in whole classes, during teacher absence. Started a new student newspaper.

Assistant, then Associate Editor, Ms. Magazine, New York, New York                       1990 – 1995 One of seven top editors of national/international magazine. Chief writer of international news briefs section. Chief editor of religion department. Also associate copy editor — responsible for grammar and syntax of 100 pages of text per issue. Wrote up to 10 original stories per edition.
